A History of Amazon Web Services (AWS)

A history of AWS service announcements (either pre-announced or in some form of limited preview, like beta) and releases (generally available in one or more AWS regions). With this update I've also included a ☠️ to indicate a service has been retired, EOL'd, or just silently disappeared 🕶️ from the console and docs. In the early days of AWS, some services were never officially released via an announcement, e.g. EMR & SNS. The information in the table below was obtained from public web pages, mainly What's New with AWS and Jeff Barr's blog posts.
